Sheikh Muhammad Ameen Al-Shinqeeti (may Allah have Mercy on him) said:

“The scholars have different opinions about the permissibility of marriage between human beings and Jins. A group of scholars said it is not allowed, while others allowed it…I do not know any text in the Qur’aan or Sunnah which indicates the permissibility of marriage between mankind and Jinn. On the contrary, it seems that the obvious meaning of Qur’anic verses point to its impermissibility. Hence, in His saying in this noble verse: “And Allah has made for you wives of your own kind. [Surah Al-Nahl, verse 72]”, He reminds mankind of His favor upon then that He created their wives from their type and kind. It can be understood from this verse that He did not create their wives incompatible with them – like the incompatibility of mankind and Jinn – and this is obvious. It is also supported by His saying, “And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. [Surah Al-Room, verse 21]”. Hene, His saying “that He created for you wives from among yourselves” is a way of reminding them of His favor: it shows that he did not create their wives from other than their kind.”
